Setting the Standards for New Zealand Pallet Manufacturing

ISPM 15 Certification Mark

The ISPM 15 Standard was approved in 2002 and implemented in NZ in 2003.A new document was released in March 2015 as an MPI Technical Standard, entitled 'Certification Mark for Wood Packaging'. The Technical Standard and a summary of the changes are attached.

For all those involved in exporting, and manufacturing product suitable for export within the Wood Packaging environment then this document is important.

Pallet Makers New Qualification

The NZWPCA has been working with COMPETENZ to develop a new qualification for the Wooden Pallet sector of the Solid Wood Industry. This has been a rigorous process to ensure that the right skills are represented in the 'New Zealand Certificate in Solid Wood Manufacturing'.

This new initiative was released to manufacturers throughout New Zealand during March 2015,and already an air of excitement exists within the companies that have been exposed to the possibilities for their staff.

LOSCAM Opens New Auckland Depot


12 July 2012 (Auckland, NZ) – Leading Australasian pallet and logistics equipment rental
company, Loscam, has recently opened its Auckland depot in Onehunga, Auckland.
Ideally placed for the logistics and manufacturing sectors, the depot is also the head office
for Loscam New Zealand Limited.


The depot will provide the full range of pallet and equipment repair services and is
strategically placed adjacent to the rail terminal, enabling efficient and carbon friendly
relocations of pallets throughout New Zealand by the countries rail network.


Loscam’s rate of growth in New Zealand continues to expand, with its 4 way entry pallet
bringing significant benefits to its customers through increased transport efficiency,
enhanced safety and stability and greater utility in warehouses and back of stores.
